- Info: give w/ water, 30min before first food/drink/med, avoid lying down x30min; calcium and vitamin D supplementation recommended if inadequate dietary intake; reassess need for tx in 3-5y; may consider drug holiday if stable after tx x5y (low-mod risk pt); optimal holiday duration up to 5y; if drug holiday initiated, reassess need for tx q2-4y and consider resuming tx in pts w/ fracture or significant BMD loss
